Mom's Notes:
Language Arts: Kennedy is reading New Dawn on Rocky Ridge and the rest of the series about Rose Wilder. We are reading Dream Coach and Mary's Garden as a family. Kennedy is reading a lot of Magic Treehouse (Jack and Annie) books. Kingston learned words and phonics on Starfall. Kennedy is working on doing more reports about what she learns. Kennedy learned more about parts of speech.
Math: Kennedy and Kingston played Prodigy. They each completed some skill levels. Kennedy completed addition to 20 and Kingston completed counting and 2D shapes. While making muffins, the kids learned that 2 halves make a whole cup. Kingston and Kes did math games on starfall.
Social Studies: We learned this week about African empires. We watched a documentary about Africa during the Middle Ages. We also learned about India in the Middle Ages. We learned about Christopher Columbus. We watched a few documentaries and the movie 1492. We colored pictures about Christopher Columbus. We learned about Vespucci and Magellan.
Science: Kingston wondered where garbage went. We watched some youtube videos about what happens to garbage after the garbage truck picks it up. This also led to use watching a video about what a landfill is. We played an animal guessing game. Kennedy has been using Google Slides to create reports. We watched a documentary on the Shinkansen bullet train in Japan. We went to Yellowstone and saw some geysers. We talked about water's boiling point. We saw a bison and had to look up the difference between a bison and buffalo. We learned from Mystery Doug that the most dangerous animal is a mosquito. What?!
Tech/Trep: Kennedy designed a 3D bunny in MeshMixer. Kennedy emails her grandparents. The kids build with Legos. We learned about inventors at the Museum of Idaho Steampunk exhibit. The kids dressed up to fit the part. Kennedy did programming on Khan Academy.


Elective: Kennedy worked on some sketches. She also worked on some embroidery. Kennedy watched some art videos in her art course on Khan Academy. The kids have loved coloring this summer. Kennedy is learning Spanish on Duolingo. Kennedy got some Latin books at the library so she can learn Latin. She started learning The Lord's Prayer in Latin. We learned that Latin words can be in any order.
