His mother wanted to help him rule the kingdom. When he was finally old enough to be the king his soldiers were fighting against him because they wanted to be in charge. But he survived. He conquered Constantinople and named it Istanbul. Then he went across the sea and went to Europe. He defeated Baghdad, Russia, and then I think he was going to go to Europe."
Science: We watched Mystery Doug and learned why leaves change color in the fall. Kennedy says, "There's things in the leaves that make them green. But in fall, the trunk sucks all that in. There's other colors in the leaves, red, yellow, and orange, that show up when the green is pulled into the trunk." We also watched a Mystery Doug video about dragons. Kingston learned "that them not real. Them do blow fire. Because them just dinosaurs. But the bones that look like dragon is just a dinosaur. But there are also real animals that actually look like dragons like lizard that flies like a dragon. But me not know what that's called actually." Kennedy says, "Dragons are not real. But people long ago may have found dinosaur bones but they thought they were dragons. And then they imagined them to be dragons." We read about wind erosion.
