Language Arts: Kennedy and Kingston made up riddles. Kennedy read some Junie B.Jones books. She read Freddy and the French Fries. We finished reading aloud Family Courageous. We learned fore and four are homophone and learned about root words. Kingston is reading Ninjas at Night. Kennedy says, "The Junie B. Jones book I read is about Hawaii. Her teacher gave her a camera and a photo journal so she could show the class when she got back what she did. She rode an airplane to get there. She went on a nature hike with her parents. She swimmed in the swimming pool and went snorkeling." Kennedy practiced writing fancy with her dad.
Math: Kennedy says, "Four halves is two wholes. And four wholes make eight halves." Kingston says, "Half of a half is a quarter." We did math with blocks (counting, patterns). Kingston did some math on Easy Peasy Homeschool. He practiced Evens and Odds.
Social Studies: We watched Schoolhouse Rock and learned the preamble. We talked about the purpose of government and what makes a good leader (D&C 121:39-44). We learned about pioneers at The Church History Museum in Utah. Kennedy says, "At the Church History Museum we found a screen that told us how the pioneers traveled there. Some traveled in wagons. Some traveled in boats. They had tools so they could build Salt Lake City." Kennedy says, "Pizza is from Italy. There is a city that has water for streets."
Science: We read Book of Cats and Dogs. Kennedy says "If it puts its back like an arch and spits then it will scratch. I thought cats only had fur." Kingston says, "Cats wear fur because that is the only thing on them like clothes. I didn't know it had skin. If his whiskers touch the side then his body won't fit inside."
Tech/Trep: Our library hosted BlockFest and we got to build a lot with blocks. Kingston says, "I built a city. There was some with glass and the red was a fire truck. The yellow was a bus. And a police truck." Kennedy says, "We played with a lot of blocks, different kinds of blocks. I made a really tall tower out really big foam blocks. I built a little rectangle that my sister could fit in." Kennedy and Kingston also played on Roblox. Kennedy used Mesh Mixer to paint a rabbit digitally. Kingston says, "It's my Wooden Plank World. These are wooden planks and they are all over, so it's my wooden plank world. I created a water tower. I can swim up it. But to get out I have to jump down. To jump you press space. I make lava but it doesn't hurt me. I tried the volcano world but their lava hurts me so I don't go there any more. In the city I went into a house but there was a person and I was scared so I don't go there any more."
Elective: Kennedy performed a song she wrote for her grandpa and taught it to her cousin. Kennedy and Kingston practiced balancing and somersaults.
