Feb 23-28

Language Arts: Kingston practiced writing words. Kennedy is reading Maniac McGee . We finished reading The Silver Chair together. "I just remember Aslan. I remember Marsh Wiggles. I just remember the characters." Kennedy says, "The Silver Chair was about when Prince Rilian, Prince Caspian's son, was in the underground. He was enchanted and they saved him. Then Aslan took them back to their world." Math: We played trouble. Kingston had to count the spaces to move. We played war. Kingston says, "I have a lot of cards. I won three wars. A half, a whole, and a half makes two whole." We practiced multiplication at the table: by one, zero, and ten. Then we recited the multiples of 3. Feb 15-22

Language Arts: Kennedy and Kingston presented their playground design to the family. Kennedy wrote a song. Kennedy says, "I read a book called Bed Knobs and Broomsticks. It's about these three kids and the lady called Miss Price. She's a witch in training. She puts a spell on a bed knob and if you turn it and you wish where the bed would go, it would go to that place. My favorite place that they went was London, England to see their mother." Kingston says, "We read Narnia. They are in a castle. And somebody gave Marsh-Wiggle some alcohol and he turned into a big spider." Math: Kennedy calculated her cost to make hot chocolate and lemonade. Kennedy says, "We went to the store and got prices for the stuff we needed for my lemonade and hot cocoa stand. Language Arts: Kennedy did a ELA performance task for ISAT with mom. We worked on organizing thoughts to answer the questions. We read The Silver Chair.  We read a Dora book. We read picture books. Math: We played Sum Swamp. We played Monopoly Jr. Kennedy did a math performance test with ISAT. We played Monopoly Deal. Social Studies: We played Passport to Culture. We read about the English getting India. We played Ticket to Ride. Science: Kennedy found some tracks in the snow. She tried to research what animal they were from. We couldn't tell if it was a squirrel or a cat. We watched the 3rd grade science lesson about seasons and weather. We learned from Mystery Doug how airplanes fly. We made our own planes and tested their flight paths. Tech/Trep: We played Robot Turtles. We built ball mazes with Keva Planks. We played Lightbot programming app. We played with our robot.
