Language Arts: We finished reading The Last Battle (and by extension The Chronicles of Narnia series). Kennedy is reading Harry Potter 5. Kingston listened to some books on Epic. Kennedy listened and read books on Epic. We listened to poetry. Kennedy wrote a song. We did crossword puzzles. We are reading Family Courageous. Math: Kingston played a pizza addition game on education.com. Kennedy played Sorry. Kennedy did a math worksheet using the abacus. Kingston used cubes to do addition. He reviewed telling time. Social Studies: We read about how the British brought opium to China in Story of the World. We read about Napoleon in Story of the World. Kennedy says, "He was in the government. He was an explorer and then he went into the government." Science: We watched Mystery Doug. We learned how plastic is made and its effect on the environment. We learned how batteries are made. The Rabbit's Carrots: A Sharing Addition Story

Once upon a time there was a rabbit. And every morning he would pick 10 carrots from his garden. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. He would eat one carrot for breakfast, one carrot for lunch, and one carrot for dinner. The rest he put in his cupboard. The next morning, Rabbit woke up and picked his carrots from his garden. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. All this picking made him extra hungry. So he had one carrot for breakfast, one carrot for snack, one carrot for lunch, and one carrot for dinner. How many carrots did he add to his cupboard? Five. How many does he have in his cupboard now? Twelve. The next morning, Rabbit woke up and picked his carrots from his garden. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. He eats one for breakfast. Language Arts: Kingston dictated a story. "There was an envelope. The wind blew the envelope up to the mountains. Then the wind blew it up again into the tree." Kennedy is reading the 5th Harry Potter. I read a lot of picture books to Kingston. We are reading The Last Battle. Math: Kingston drew a maze. Kennedy made a March Madness bracket (all sorts of math involved here). We did Lego math problems. We practiced multiplication with Legos. Social Studies: We read in Story of the World about steam engines. We learned about the cotton gin invention. Science: We went to Science Spectacular at ISU. Kennedy says, "My favorite was trying to get the balloon static and pull the water to it. I liked the science ball that had static lines. When you touched it then the lines would move." Kingston played an orbit app learning about gravity. Kingston listened to a book about ants. He says, "Ants don't eat leaves. They eat fungus." We learned ...

Language Arts: Kennedy is reading the fourth Harry Potter book. She gave an oral book report to her dad. We read about Vivaldi. We read more of The Last Battle. Math: We played math games on Education.com. We did a lot of fraction games. Kennedy says, "One of the games was pancakes. You had to flip what the fraction said to flip on the first number out of the second number." Kingston says, "I'm playing the space station game. It is how you make a space station. The sandwich one using fraction." We played Monopoly Jr. Social Studies: We read about the French Revolution in Story of the World. We read about Marie Antoinette. We read about Catherine the Great of Russia. Science: We watched Magic School Bus. Kingston says, "I like the one about magnets. The train one. They used iron in the rock to lift the bus. Language Arts: Kennedy is reading Harry Potter on her own. She says, "I've read a lot and I haven't gotten to when Ginny is taken yet. The movie misses a lot." We are reading The Last Battle. Kingston is playing sight word apps and Teach Your Monster to Read. Math: Kingston practices place value. He says, "Four zero is forty. 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30." We practiced multiplication again. Kennedy says "Three times seven is 21. Nine times 3 is 27." Kennedy did a clock worksheet. Social Studies: We are reading Story of the World about Captain Cook. Kennedy says, "He went back to England two times after his adventures. On the next time he died so he didn't get back to England a third time. He went to New Zealand and then Australia. He died in Hawaii. The Hawaianns thought he was god but when he came back they hit him and he bled. They were all he's not god. And then they were angry."We watched a show about Australia ...
